Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Inhalation: Move to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash immidiately with soap and plenty of water. If symptoms persist, call a physician.
Eye contact: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Consult physician.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth. Drink plenty of water as a precaution. Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), water spray, alcohol-resistant foam.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet.
Special protective equipment: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus and splash-proof protective suit.
Special exposure hazards: None known.
Hazardous reactions: None known.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions: See under Exposure controls/personal protection.
Environmental precautions: Do not discharge directly in waterways. Contact local authorities in case of significant spillages.
Clean-up methods: Contain spillage and collect as much as possible in a clean container for (preferably) reuse or disposal. Flush the spillage area with water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Ensure good ventilation. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. As with all chemicals, good industrial hygiene practices should be followed when handling this material.
Storage: Store at temperatures below 40 degrees C. Store in closed containers. Avoid moisture and contact with water during storage.
