Description of key information

The relative density is 0.935 at 25 deg. C as per method ASTM D 891.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Relative density at 20C:
0.935

Additional information

The key value was determined by using a pycnometer method according to ATSM D 891. Titanium tetrakis(2-ethylhexanolate) is hydrolytically unstable. When it comes in contact with water or moisture, a complete hydrolysis will take place with no significant reaction products other than 2 -ethylhexanol and hydrated titanium dioxide. Because of rapid hydrolysis, instead of the target substance, read-across data on the density of 2-ethylhexanol, 0.831 at 10 deg.Celsius released from the substance is used as a key value in exposure assessment when relevant (Lide 2008).
