Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The determined values for the melting point of Manganese diacetate anhydrate are identic in both data sources on CAS No 638 -38 -0, a peer-reviewed handbook and an internet source referring to three peer-reviewed handbooks. Therefore, the value of 210°C for the melting point of manganese diacetate anhydrate can be considered as reliable.

The determined values (80°C) for the melting point of Manganese (II) acetate anhydrate are identic in both the study conducted similar to OECD 102 and a peer-reviewed database. Although the anhydrous form is the substance to be registered according to the requirements under REACH, this form practically never occurs and hence it is scientifically justified to perform the test on the tetrahydrat and therefore the value of 80°C should be included in safety assessment.
