Executive summary:

In an eye irritation study 0.1 mL of 1,1,1 -trichloroethane was instilled into one eye of each of 3 rabbits. The reaction to reatment and degree of irritation was assessed according to Kay and Calandra. 1,1,1-trichloroethane was found to be slighly irritating to the eye of the rabbit.
