Description of key information

Phototransformation in air is not relevant due to low vapour pressure (< 0.0001 Pa).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Experimental results on phototransformation of 2,2-bis[[(1-oxoheptyl)oxy]methyl]propane-1,3-diyl bisheptanoate (CAS 25811-35-2) are not available. Calculated values using AOPWIN v1.92 indicate that the substance will be rapidly photodegraded by reaction with hydroxyl radicals (Birkhofer, 2014). The estimated half-live is 12.42 hours. However, due to the low vapour pressure of the components (< 0.0001 Pa, SPARC v 4.6 calculation) the substance is not expected to exist in the vapour phase in the atmosphere.
