Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur as well as copper, sodium and lithium
compounds and some soot.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage and remove personnel from the affected
area. Wear dust mask, goggles and gloves.
Powder: Collect spilt material and place in suitable
containers for disposal.
Solution: Absorb spill with a suitable absorbent material.
Dipose of at a landfill site or by incineration at a
suitable facility.
Handling and storage
Handling: The usual precautions for the handling of chemicals should
be observed; avoid inhalation, skin and eye contact.
Avoid dust formation. Use dust-proof filling apparatus or an
appropriate exhaust system. A dust mask should be worn.
Storage: Store in tightly closed containers (eg in polyethylene bags
in sealed steel drums). Avoid residues collecting on the
container.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Avoid contact with eyes and skin; change contaminated clothes immediately. Wash hands before breaks and after work. Use barrier skin cream.
Ware tightly fitting safety goggles and working clothes.
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None reported. Chemical reaction with water: None reported. Dust explosion determined by test: N
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: In normal application approximately 98% is consumed by
irreversible binding to paper pulp.
Recovery for recycling of the remaining highly water soluble
substance is not practical.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Discharge at a controlled landfill site is possible (A650).
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration at a suitable facility is possible. Waste gas
treatment to remove sulfur and nitrogen oxides should be
fitted (A661).
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Approximately 2% of the total quantity used is discharged
into internal industrial effluents as a highly diluted
solution.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
