Description of key information

Regarding results obtained for the mixed TDA and 2,4-TDA. It is necessary to make distinction between these two susbtances to evaluate the acute toxicity effects.

Additional information

For mixed TDA (80% 2,4 -TDA and 20% 2,6 -TDA) only one study, validity 2 and considered as key study, was available for skin irritation on Rabbit. The result indicated no oedema and erythema with maximal value of 2, no reversibility period were observed and the substance was considered as irritant for the skin.

Only one study, validity 2 and considered as key study, on eye irritation on Rabbit was available. Severe effects on cornea, iris and conjunctivae were observed and were not reversible within 3 days observation period. The substance was considered as severely irritant for the eyes.

For 2,4 -TDA only one study, validity 2 and considered as key study, was available for skin irritation on Rabbit. No erythema and oedema were observed and substance was considered as no irritant for the skin.

Only one study, validity 2 and considered as key study, on eye irritation on Rabbit was available. Slight chemosis were reported and were reversible on day 7 of recovery period. The substance was not considered as irritant for the eyes.
