Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The bioaccumulation of octocrilene in zebra fishDanio reriowas investigated using a flow through system set up according to OECD 305. The fish were exposed via the water to the 14C-radio labeled test substance for 28 days. After a depuration period of 15 days the test was terminated and a mean growth and lipid corrected BCF of 858 based on the whole body wet weight was determined (BASF AG, 2008). This BCF takes into account both parent and any possible metabolite (i.e. transformation products such as glucuronides and sulfates), and thus may be considered as a worst case.

Furthermore, a second fish bioaccumulation study using rainbow troutOncorhynchus mykissand dietary exposure was carried out with 14C radiolabeled test substance (1 µg//g feed) for 14 days (BASF SE,

DSM Nutritional Products AG, Merck KGaA, Symrise AG, 2018). The resulting lipid and growth corrected kinetic BMF was 0.0335.

Available scientific literature on measured test substance concentration in various aquatic organisms was reviewed and compared to the results from the two OECD 305 studies. Overall it was concluded that the substance is not considered as bioaccumulative and not as very bioaccumulative according to the REACH PBT/vPvB-criteria.
