Results and discussion

Pyrophoric solids
Test procedure:
ignition time on contact with air
Remarks:
Ignition on contact with air refers to either Pyrophoric solids or Pyrophoric liquids depending on physical state (migrated information).
Remarks on result:
no ignition on contact with air (not further specified)
Remarks:
corresponding to 'no' in migrated source record.

Any other information on results incl. tables

The test substance has a "Brennzahl" of 2: "catches fire briefly and extinguishes rapidly"(definition according to HVBG, 2001).

The study report gives a very similar definition ofcombustion class 2 as¿brief ignition and rapid extinction¿.

The same results are found when 20%, 40% or 60% of diatomaceous earth (¿Kieselguhr¿) are added to the pigment sample.

As the flames do not propagate no burning rate can be determined.
