Additional information

Two studies are available for this endpoint.

One study was performed (Huntingdon Life Sciences, 1999) to assess the acute toxicity of n-Heptanoic acid to fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) under semi-static conditions. This study was conducted in accordance with the method C.1 of the European Directive 92/69/EC and the OECD guideline 203. The 96h LC50 was above 92 mg/l (95% CL). The NOEC was also 92 mg/l.

The other study determined the acute toxicity of n-heptanoic acid to medaka (Oryzias latipes), according to the OECD 203 guidelines. The toxicity was higher to this species, as LC50 was calculated as 74.8 mg/L.

Fish acute LC50 = 74.8 mg/L
