Description of key information

The acute toxicity of Acetoguanamine to the unfed fresh-water fish species Leuciscus idus (L.) was determined in a 48-hour test. 
The 48-h-LC50 was reported as 2630 mg/L (mortality as basis for effect).

The acute toxicity of Acetoguanamine to the unfed fresh-water fish species Leuciscus idus (L.) was determined in a 48-hour test. Treatments consisted of a water control and nominal concentrations of 20, 560, 1000, 1800, 3200 and 5600 mg/l Acetoguanamine. Every test vessels contained 10 l of test solution or control solution and was populated with 10 fishes. Test solutions were maintained at 21°.

The highest concentration causing no motality was 1800 mg/L of Acetoguanamine. Only one fish died at 1000 mg/L. This dead was regarded as accidental, because it is usual to allow 10% mortality (in the blanks) according to OECD Guideline no. 203.

The lowest concentration causing 100 % mortality after 48h was 5600 mg/L Acetoguanamine.

The condition (swimming behaviour, colour, respiratory function or any observable morphological or behavioural criterion) of the survivors was visually compared with that of the control animals (blanks). The lowest concentration causing these effects was 3200 g/mL Acetoguanamine.

The results of the acute toxicity test of Acetoguanamine to Leuciscus idus (L.) were expressed as LC50, LC100 and NOEC values:

24h LC50: 4540 mg/L (mortality as basis for effect)

48h LC50: 2630 mg/L (mortality as basis for effect)

48h LC100: 5600 mg/L (mortality as basis for effect)

48h NOEC: 1800 mg/L (mortality as basis for effect)

48h NOEC: 1800 mg/L (condition as basis for effect)
