Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental BCF studies (aquatic and terrestrial) are available.

An in silico method for calculating BCF has been employed. Based on the BCF/BAF method of Arnot-Gobas and including biotransformation rate, a BCF value between 500 and 1000 is obtained regardless of the trophic level.

The substance is not acutely toxic (no toxicity found at the limit of solubility) and is very poorly soluble in water. Chronic studies have been performed on the substance and read-across substance (EC 422-320-3), and the chronic NOECs for algae, daphnids and fish are known. Nevertheless, it would be technically challenging to perform a BCF study on fish at concentrations below the NOEC (of 0.027 mg/L) as apart from the low water solubility, the substance also has a high adsorption coefficient and readily biodegrades. Due to the ready degradation, rapid metabolism is also assumed and a BCF study performed on this substance would not be expected to add significantly to the knowledge already gained.
