Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex IX, Soil simulation testing (required in section 9.2.1.3) was not conducted as the substance is highly insoluble in water and hydrolytically unstable (half-life 99 min at pH 7 and 25°C, see IUCLID5 section 5.1.2). In addition it was shown that the primery hydrolysis product 2,2-Dimethyl-3-lauroyloxy-propanal is readily biodegradable. The second hydrolysis product 3-aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylamine was not biodegradable, but was shown to be degraded in a OECD 303 test to 42 % within a period of 31 days (see ECHA dissemination webpage). From experiance in handling and use it is very unlikely that direct and indirect exposure of soil occures, as the substance rapidly hydrolysis in contact with water. In addition the substance is incorporated in a polymer during professional and consumer use and is thus not present in the environment as such.
