Preliminary screening test

The test substance was formed into a powder train about 250 mm long by 20 mm wide by 10 mm high on a fireclay plate. A hot flame from a gas burner was applied to one end of the powder train. No ignition occurred and therefore performance of burning rate test is disregarded.

Conclusions:
The test substance Zirconium oxide, hafnium and ytterbium doped did not ignite during the preliminary screening test. Therefore, performance of the main study for the determination of the burning rate of the test substance was not required.
