Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Considering the chemical structure of the substance and taking Appendix 6 of UN regulation for the use of screening procedures to assess explosive properties and the ECHA Endpoint specific guidance (R.7a) into consideration, lanthanum acetate is considered not to contain any chemical groups indicating explosive properties.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The theoretical assessment concluding that the substance has no explosive properties is confirmed by the DTA analysis performed for the determination of the melting point of lanthanum acetate which shows no exothermic reactions over the temperature range tested (20 to 400°C).

Justification for classification or non-classification

Following a theoretical assessment it is concluded that there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule. Lanthanum acetate is concluded to be non explosive. This results in an absence of classification both under DSD and CLP systems.
