First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures: General information: Seek medical treatment. Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. Symptoms of poisoning may even occur after several hours. therefore medical observation for at least 48 hours after the accident.

After inhalation: Supply fresh air and to be sure call for a doctor. In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.

After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.

After eye contact: Call a doctor immediately. Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor.

After swallowing: Drink plenty of water and provide fresh air. Call for a doctor immediately.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed: Eye irritation, Irritation of mucous membrane, Coughing, Headache, Nausea, Breathing difficulty, Allergic reactions, Skin irritation

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media:

Suitable extinguishing agents: Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions. Water haze. Fire-extinguishing powder. Carbon dioxide

For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with full jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: High risk of dust explosion! In case of fire, the following can be released: Carbon monoxide (CO)

Advice for firefighters: Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device. Wear fully protective suit.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Wear protective clothing. Avoid formation of dust. Ensure adequate ventilation. Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol. Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.

Environmental precautions: Keep contaminated washing water and dispose of appropriately. Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Provide suction extractors if dust is formed. Waste air is to be released into the atmosphere only via suitable separators. Any unavoidable deposit of dust must be regularly removed. Keep receptacles tightly sealed. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Information about fire - and explosion protection: Dust can combine with air to form an explosive mixture.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Storage: Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: No special requirements.

Information about storage in one common storage facility: Store away from oxidising agents. Store away from water. Do not store together with acids. Do not store together with alkalis (caustic solutions).

Further information about storage conditions: Keep container tightly sealed. Store in dry conditions. Protect from humidity and water.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters: Ingredients with limit values that require monitoring at the workplace: Not required.

Additional information: The lists valid during the making were used as basis.

Exposure controls: Personal protective equipment: General protective and hygienic measures: Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing. Store protective clothing separately. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of work. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. Do not inhale gases / fumes / aerosols.

Respiratory protection: In case of brief exposure or low pollution use respiratory filter device. In case of intensive or longer exposure use self-contained respiratory protective device (Filter P1, Filter P2, Filter P3)

Protection of hands: Protective gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Check the permeability prior to each anewed use of the glove. Due to missing tests no recommendation to the glove material can be given for the product/ the preparation/ the chemical mixture. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation.

Material of gloves: Nitrile rubber, NBR; Butyl rubber, BR; Chloroprene rubber, CR; Fluorocarbon rubber (Viton); PVC gloves; Rubber gloves; The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also

on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Penetration time of glove material: The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles

Body protection: Impervious protective clothing

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability:

Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used and stored according to specifications.

Possibility of hazardous reactions: High risk of dust explosion! Risk of dust explosion if enriched with fine dust in the presence of air. Violent reaction with water at higher temperatures. Reacts with alkali (lyes).

Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available.

Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents; Acids and bases

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide; Forms hydrogen slowly at room temperature, more rapidly with increasing temperature.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods:

Recommendation: Must be specially treated adhering to official regulations. Contact manufacturer for recycling information. Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.

European waste catalogue: 07 01 99 wastes not otherwise specified; HP6 Acute Toxicity; HP8 Corrosive; HP13 Sensitising

Uncleaned packaging:

Recommendation: Empty contaminated packagings thoroughly. They may be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning. Packagings that may not be cleansed are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product. Disposal must be made according to official regulations.
