Additional information

Two tests on the toxicity of Beta-Ionon to fish are available. A guideline study conducted with Leuciscus idus in accordance with Geman standard DIN 38412, part 15 detected a LC50 of 6.81 mg/l after 96 hours of exposure (BASF AG, 1989). This result is supported by a second study performed in compliance with US EPA guidelines. In a semi-static test system individuals of Pimephales promelas were exposed to the substance and LC50 (96 h) of 5.09 mg/l was determined (Geiger et al. 1988).
