Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice :
Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.
First aider needs to protect himself.
Place affected clothing in a sealed bag for subsequent decontamination.
Skin contact :
Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.
Wash off with plenty of water.
Eye contact :
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15
minutes.
Get immediate medical advice/ attention.
Ingestion :
Do NOT induce vomiting.
Rinse mouth with water.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media :
The product is not flammable.
Carbon dioxide (CO2)
Dry powder
Water spray
Unsuitable extinguishing media :
High volume water jet
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Specific hazards during firefighting :
Aqueous liquid. Does not present any particular risk in the event of a fire.
Nevertheless, following the evaporation of water, the residue may burn:
with the release of toxic gas.
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters :
Wear self contained breathing apparatus for fire fighting if necessary.
Use personal protective equipment.
Further information :
Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Avoid contact with the skin and the eyes.
Wear suitable protective equipment.
Wear suitable gloves.
Tightly fitting safety goggles
Stop the leak. Turn leaking containers leak-side up to prevent the escape of liquid.
Environmental precautions :
Contain the spilled material by bunding.
Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.
Methods for Cleaning or Taking Up
Recovery :
Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations.
Wash off with plenty of water.
Decontamination/cleaning :
Wash off with plenty of water.
Recover the cleaning water for subsequent disposal.
Disposal :
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
Additional advice :
Material can create slippery conditions.
Handling and storage
Handling
Advice on safe handling and usage :
Avoid splashes.
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Storage
Technical Measures for storage :
Store at room temperature in the original container.
Storage conditions
Recommended :
Stable under normal conditions.
Keep in a well-ventilated place.
Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.
To be avoided :
Keep away from incompatible materials to be indicated by the manufacturer
Incompatible products :
Do not mix with incompatible materials (See list section 10).
Packaging Measures
Packaging materials - Recommended :
Plastic drum, Plastic materials.
Packaging materials - To be avoided :
Uncoated metals
Storage temperature :
10 - 49 °C

Exposure controls / personal protection
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection :
Use a respirator with an approved filter if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.
Hand protection :
Protective gloves
Eye protection :
Safety glasses with side-shields
In case of contact through splashing:
Face-shield
Skin and body protection :
Protective suit
Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the work place.
Hygiene measures :
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment.
When using do not eat or drink.
Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday.
Protective measures :
The protective equipment must be selected in accordance with current CEN standards and in cooperation with the supplier of the protective equipment.
Selection of appropriate personal protective equipment should be based on an evaluation of the performance characteristics of the protective equipment relative to the task(s) to be performed, conditions present, duration of use, and the potential hazards and/or risks that may occur during use.
General advice :
Contain the spilled material by bunding.
Try to prevent the material from entering drains or water courses.
Stability and reactivity
Chemical stability :
Stable under normal conditions.
Hazardous reactions
Conditions to avoid :
Avoid excessive heat for prolonged periods of time.
Materials to avoid :
Strong acids
Strong oxidizing agents
Decomposition products :
On combustion or on thermal decomposition (following the evaporation of water) releases:
(Carbon oxides (CO + CO2)).
nitrogen oxides (NOx).
Sulphur oxides
Disposal considerations
Product Disposal
Prohibition :
Should not be released into the environment.
Advice on Disposal :
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
Advice on cleaning and disposal of packaging
Measures for waste avoidance. :
Do not dispose of the product at a rubbish tip.
Advice :
Completely empty the packaging prior to decontamination.
Carefully drain and then steam clean.
Reason for waste disposal :
Reuse or recycle following washing.
Other data :
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
