First-aid measures

General advice: Move out of dangerous area.

Consult a physician.

Show this safety data sheet to the doctor in attendance.

Symptoms of poisoning may appear several hours later.

Do not leave the victim unattended.

If inhaled: Get medical attention immediately.

Move the victim to fresh air.

No physical exertion.

If patient has difficulty in breathing, administer oxygen, keep him calm and protect him from loss of warmth.

INFORMATION FOR THE PHYSICIAN:

Treat with a corticoid metered aerosol depending on the amount inhaled.

Call a physician or poison control centre immediately.

If unconscious, place in recovery position and seek medical advice.

In case of skin contact: Immediate medical treatment is necessary as untreated wounds from corrosion of the skin heal slowly and with difficulty.

If on skin, rinse well with water.

If on clothes, remove clothes.

In case of eye contact: Small amounts splashed into eyes can cause irreversible tissue damage and blindness.

In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

Continue rinsing eyes during transport to hospital.

Remove contact lenses.

Protect unharmed eye.

Keep eye wide open while rinsing.

If eye irritation persists, consult a specialist.

If swallowed: Keep respiratory tract clear.

Do NOT induce vomiting.

Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Take victim immediately to hospital.

Risks: Harmful if swallowed.

Causes serious eye damage.

Fatal if inhaled.

May cause respiratory irritation.

Causes severe burns.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: High volume water jet

Specific hazards during fire-fighting: Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Hazardous combustion products: Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Carbon monoxide

Halogenated compounds

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus for firefighting if necessary.

Further information: Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.

Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

For safety reasons in case of fire, cans should be stored sepa-rately in closed containments.

Use a water spray to cool fully closed containers.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Use personal protective equipment.

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

Environmental precautions: Prevent product from entering drains.

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Methods for cleaning up: Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible ab-sorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, ver-miculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations..

Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Manufacture and use of this chemical intermediate takes place under strictly controlled conditions, as described in Art. 17/18 REACH. The substance is rigorously contained during manufacturing and use and appropriate risk management measures including PPE (i.g. during charging or sampling) are applied. Occupational exposure is reduced to a minimum and well controlled by measurements. A management system covering all general aspectsof a chemical production is in place, especially cleaning and maintenance of plants and equipment. An authorisation scheme based on instructions covering the whole process ensures that only trained and authorised staff handles the substance.

Advice on safe handling: Avoid formation of aerosol.

Do not breathe vapours/dust.

Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.

Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

To avoid spills during handling keep bottle on a metal tray.

Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.

This substance should be handled under strictly controlled conditions as specified in REACH regulation article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management system should be available at each manufacturing site. During the whole lifecycle all necessary measures should be undertaken to minimize emissions and any resulting exposure.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Do not spray on a naked flame or any incandescent material. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Hygiene measures: Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. When using do not eat or drink. When using do not smoke. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Requirements for storage areas and containers: Prevent unauthorized access. No smoking. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Observe label precautions. Electrical in-stallations / working materials must comply with the technolog-ical safety standards.

Further information on storage stability: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.
