Additional information

Phosphoric acid, potassium salt (2:3), dihydrate is applied into the soil as fertilizer for different types of crops. This substance has low potential for adsorption to solid particles (as it will be rapidly transformed in water into its dissociated forms). Since phosphates and potassium are considered essential nutrients for terrestrial organisms, which possess internal mechanisms to regulate them, bioaccumulation and toxicity are not expected. The acute studies conducted on aquatic organisms showed no effects of the substance in fish, aquatic invertebrates or algae. Thus, even though the substance is directly applied to the soil, no hazard for terrestrial organisms is expected. Considering this information and animal welfare, terrestrial toxicity testing is not deemed necessary.
