Description of key information
Additional information
p-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)aniline is considered rapidly degradable according to the criteria set out under GHS.
p-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3-epoxypropyl)aniline shows >70% degradation within 28days in OECD 309 testing and none of the degradation products identified fulfil classification criteria for aquatic toxicity.
An OECD 309 Aerobic Mineralisation study was conducted to simulate potential for ultimate degradation in surface water. Total recoveries of radioactivity (mass balances) for samples treated at 10 μg/L and 100 μg/L were between 97.3 and 110.0% applied radioactivity. Carbon dioxide accounted for a maximum of 15.0% applied radioactivity. After 59 days p-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3-epoxypropyl) aniline accounted for 1.0 to 3.8% applied radioactivity. DT50, and DT90 values for the decline of p-(2,3-epoxypropoxy)-N,N-bis(2,3- epoxypropyl) aniline from the surface water, measured in days, were as follows:
10 ug/L
DT50 10.2
DT70 17.7
DT90 33.9
100ug/L
DT50 11.4
DT70 19.7
DT90 37.7
For the purpose of risk assessment, the mean DT50 value for both concentration has been calculed due to the lack of toxicity at the higher dose. The mean value used for half life in water is 10.8 days.
