There are no data for the substance. However 96-hour LC50 values of >107 and 574 mg/l have been determined for the effects of the structurally-analogous read-across substances dichloro(3-chloropropyl)methylsilane (CAS 7787-93-1) and (3-chloropropyl)diethoxymethylsilane (CAS 13501-76-3) on mortality of Cyprinus carpio and Danio rerio (tested as: Brachydanio rerio) respectively.

The study with dichloro(3-chloropropyl)methylsilane has been selected as key as the substance has a fast hydrolysis rate (within seconds) and therefore will result in the same hydrolysis product, (3-chloropropyl)methylsilanediol, as the registered substance.

The results with (3-chloropropyl)diethoxymethylsilane are interpreted with reference to mean measured concentrations of the test substance based on dissolved organic carbon (DOC). However it is likely that the test organisms were exposed to the hydrolysis products due to the test media preparation (stirring for 18 h) and the relatively high pH at the end of the study (8.5).

The studies for the structurally analogous substances are considered to be reliability 1 (reliable without restrictions); however the read across of the results are considered to be reliability 2 (reliable with restrictions).
