Additional information

Acetylsalicylic acid has been proved to be readily biodegradable, in aerobic, and in anaerobic conditions.

Its log Kow is 1.19, that allows predicting it is not bioaccumulative, and does not adsorb significantly on sediment/soil. That is supported by a MacKay level I calculation, which gives > 98 % distribution in water compartment.

So it can be concluded that acetylsalicylic acid is not persitent in the environment.
