Description of key information

The test material is a colourless liquid with a pour point of less than -20°C and a boiling point of 131°C. It possesses a relative density of 0.9787 at 15.6°C, a vapour pressure of 1310 Pa at 37.8°C. The test material is miscible with water with a water solubility of >97.87 g/L and a Log Pow of 0.198. A flash point of 29.4°C (PMCC) indicates that the test material is classified as a flammable liquid according to UN GHS criteria.  The kinematic viscosity is 0.70 mm²/s at 40 °C.

The liquid substance is not flammable in contact with air nor does it emit flammable gases in contact with water based on experience during use and handling. The auto-ignition temperature was determined to be 407°C. There are no chemical groups associated with explosiveness nor with oxidizing properties. Additionally the substance is hydrolytically unstable with a half-life of less than 12 hours. Finally, surface activity is not a desired property of the test material.
