EC number: 234-186-1 | CAS number: 10584-98-2
DBT(2EHMA) is stable to hydrolysis at pH 4-9.
DBT(2EHMA) undergoes 35.3% biodegradation after 28 days classifying the compound as 'not readily biodegradable'. When the study was increased to 74 days biodegradation increased to 56%. This biodegradation will be primarily due to biodegradation of the 2-EHMA ligands. DBT(2-EHMA) dissociates rapidly in water to form the alkyltin DBT and rapidly converts to form DBTO, dibutyltin hydroxide, or dibutyltin carbonate. The alkyltin moiety (DBT) is expected to be more stable.
Simulation tests are not available and are not required for a compound of this insolubility.
