First-aid measures

General advice:
First aider need to protect himself. Place affected clothing in a sealed bag for subsequent decontamination.
Inhalation :
Move the person away from the contaminated area. Make the affected person rest.
Skin contact :
Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash with water. In case of inflammation (redness, irritation, ...) obtain medical attention.
Eye contact :
Rinse with running water whilst keeping the eyes wide open. (at least 15 minutes).
Ingestion :
NEVER attempt to induce vomiting. Rinse mouth out with water.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:
Use extinguishing measures that are appropraite to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.

- Not suitable : Strong water jet. If there is a a fire close by, use suitable extinguishing agents.
Specific hazards : During combustion: Toxic gases are released
Specific fire fighting methods :
Use appropriate means for fighting adjacent fires.
Stay upwind. Evacuate the personnel away from the fumes. Cool down the containers/equipment exposed to heat with a water spray.
Protection of fire-fighters:
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions : Avoid contact with eyes.
NO flames, NO sparks. Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Do NOT approach from DOWNWIND.
Do not breathe vapours.
Protective equipment:
- water-proof boots.
- safety glasses.
- appropriate gloves.
Prevent any contact with hot surfaces.
Mark out the contaminated area with signs and prevent access to unauthorized personnel.
Warn of danger.
Mechanically ventilate the spillage area, whilst avoiding the formation of explosive concentrations.

Methods for cleaning up:
- Recovery : Recover as much of the product as possible.Recover the product by vacuuming/shovelling or sweeping.
Collect up the product and place it in a spare container: - suitably labelled.
Keep the recovered product for subsequent disposal.
- Neutralization : Absorb residues with: - inert absorbent material.
- Cleaning/Decontamination : Wash the floor with plenty of water.

Environmental precautions: Try to prevent the material from spreading into the environment.

Handling and storage

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each Manufacturing site.
Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every affected Distributor and Downstream Manufacturer/User of the Registrant’s intermediate.

Disposal considerations

RESIDUES FROM PRODUCT
Destruction/Disposal : Incinerate at a licensed installation.
Prohibition : Do not dispose of with domestic refuse.

CONTAMINATED PACKAGING
Decontamination/cleaning : Allow it to drain thoroughly.
Destruction/Disposal : Incinerate at a licensed installation.
NOTE : The user's attention is drawn to the possible existence of local regulations regarding disposal.
Prohibition : Do not dispose of the product at a rubbish tip.
