Description of key information

Does not self-ignite below melting point. Self-ignition did not occur when the oven temperature was increased to a maximum of 400ºC at 1 atm pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The autoflammability of the test substance was determined in accordance with EEC Directive 67/548, Annex V, A16, as published in 84/449/EEC. A wire mesh cube was filled with the test substance and suspended from a tripod in the muffle furnace. The temperature controller was set to raise the oven temperature at a rate of 0.5ºC/minute to a maximum of 400ºC. A steady rise in temperature of both test substance and oven was observed during the test. There was no sign of any test substance on the furnace floor and no evidence of autoignition within the temperature range.
