Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guideline:
EU Method A.3 (Relative Density)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
oscillating densitimeter
Type:
relative density
Density:
1.072
Temp.:
20 °C

Relative density D420: 1.0723 / 1.0723

mean value = 1.072

Conclusions:
The density of the substance at 20 ºC was 1.072 g/cm3 and the relative density was 1.072.
Executive summary:

According to EU Method A. 3 the relative density was 1.072 at 20 °C by an oscillating densitometer. The liquid sample was introduced into an oscillating tube of the densitimeter instrument. The change in the oscillating frequency due to the change in mass of the tube was used to determine the density of the sample. The instrument was calibrated with air and water and verified with toluene.
