Additional information

Acute toxicity to fish: The 96h-LC0 for 1,6 -diisocyanatohexane (CAS 822 -06 -0) was found to be >= 82.8 mg/L and the result is related to the arithmetic mean of analytical values (Caspers, 2000). The result relates to 1,6 -diisocyanatohexane (CAS 822 -06 -0) which was used in a read-across approach. 1,6 Diisocyanatohexane is a similar substance as Pentane, 1,5 -diisocyanato- containing an alkyl chain of 6 C-atoms, whereas Pentane, 1,5 –diisocyanato contains 5 C-atoms.

Acute toxicity to daphnia: After 48 hrs no toxic effects against daphnia magna were observed at the limit loading of 100 mg/L under exposure conditions (Spoo-Klöppel, 2016).

Toxicity to freshwater algae: No toxic effects against algae were observed at the limit loading of 100 mg/L after 72 hrs under exposure conditions (Spoo-Klöppel, 2016).

Toxicity to microorganisms: After three hours the test material showed approx. 3 % respiration inhibition of activated sludge at the highest concentration of 1000 mg/L. An EC-50 value of higher than 1000 mg/l and EC-10 value of 856.5 mg/l was determined (by probit analysis) (Spoo-Klöppel, 2016).

All toxicity studies mentioned above are classified as acceptable and satisfy the guideline requirements for the toxicity studies on acute toxicity to aquatic organisms
