Administrative data
First-aid measures
- General advice:
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
- Following inhalation:
If inhaled and if breathing is difficult, remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If experiencing respiratory symptoms: Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
- Following skin contact:
Remove affected clothing and wash all exposed skin area with mild soap and water, followed by warm water rinse. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
- Following eye contact:
IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
- Following ingestion:
Do NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
- Most important symptoms and effects:
* Symptoms/injuries after inhalation: Inhalation may cause: irritation, coughing, shortness of breath.
* Symptoms/injuries after skin contact: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
* Symptoms/injuries after eye contact: Causes serious eye damage.
* Symptoms/injuries after ingestion: May damage lungs if swallowed and aspirated. Swallowing a small quantity of this material will result in serious health hazard. Harmful if swallowed. Burns.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water fog.
- Unsuitable extinguishing media:
None known.
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
* Fire hazard: Burning produces irritating, toxic and noxious fumes.
* Explosion hazard: Product is not explosive. Burning produces irritating, toxic and noxious fumes.
- Advice for fire fighter:
* Firefighting instructions: Exercise caution when fighting any chemical fire. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses. Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire. Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers.
* Protection during firefighting: Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory protection. Use self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear fire/flame resistant/retardant clothing. EN469.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions:
Avoid all eye and skin contact and do not breathe vapour and mist. Do not breathe aerosol.
- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:
For non-emergency personnel:
* Protective equipment: Wear tight fitting safety glasses or facial screen. Use neoprene or rubber gloves.
* Emergency procedures: Avoid all unnecessary exposure. Stop leak without risks if possible. Small spills may be neutralised with lime water slurry or soda ash and flushed with large amounts of cold water. Take up small spills with dry chemical absorbent.
For emergency responders:
* Protective equipment: Equip cleanup crew with proper protection. Use eye protection to EN 166, designed to protect against liquid splashes. Chemical goggles or safety glasses. Neoprene or nitrile rubber gloves.
* Emergency procedures: Stop leak without risks if possible. Small quantities of liquid spill: take up in non-combustible absorbent material and shovel into container for disposal. Small spills may be neutralised with lime water slurry or soda ash and flushed with large amounts of cold water. If a major spill occurs, all personnel should be immediately evacuated and the area ventilated. Impound and recover large spill by mixing it with inert granular solids.
- Environmental precautions:
Do not discharge into drains or the environment. Notify authorities if liquid enters sewers or public waters. Neutralise prior to disposal (pH between 5.5 and 8.5).
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
* For containment: Contain any spills with dikes or absorbents to prevent migration and entry into sewers or streams. Absorb and/or contain spill with inert material, then place in suitable container. Do not allow minor leaks or spills to accumulate on walking surfaces.
* Methods for cleaning up: Impound and recover large spill by mixing it with inert granular solids. Small quantities of liquid spill: take up in non-combustible absorbent material and shovel into container for disposal.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
Avoid all eye and skin contact and do not breathe vapour and mist. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area.
- Hygiene measures: Always wash your hands immediately after handling this product, and once again before leaving the workplace. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
* Storage conditions: Store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Do not freeze.
* Incompatible products: Strong bases.

Exposure controls:
- Appropriate engineering controls: Avoid splashing. Avoid creating mist or spray. Provide local exhaust ventilation of closed transfer systems to minimise exposures.
- Hand protection: Butyl rubber gloves. Neoprene gloves. EN374.
- Eye protection: Chemical goggles or safety glasses. Face shield. EN166.
- Skin and body protection: Long sleeved protective clothing.
- Respiratory protection: In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. Organic vapor cartridge EN 12083. Use an approved respirator equipped with oil/mist cartridges. EN 136/140.
- Environmental exposure controls: Prevent contaminated water run-off. Prevent leakage or spillage.
- Consumer exposure controls: Keep out of reach of children.
- Other information: Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity: No dangerous reactions known.
Chemical stability: Stable under normal conditions.
Possibility of hazardous reactions: Hazardous polymerisation will not occur.
Conditions to avoid: Heat. Do not allow to dry.

Disposal considerations
Waste disposal recommendations: Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations.
European List of Waste (LoW) code: For disposal within the EC, the appropriate code according to the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) should be used.
H code:
* H5 - ‘Harmful’: substances and preparations which, if they are inhaled or ingested or if they penetrate the skin, may involve limited health risks.
* H8 - ‘Corrosive’: substances and preparations which may destroy living tissue on contact.
