Note: As the Test Material/Cellulose mixtures possessed reaction times greater than the 3:7 potassium bromate/cellulose mixture, the test material was concluded to be not oxidizing. The 2:3 Potassium Bromate/Cellulose and 3:2 Potassium Bromate/Cellulose mixtures did not require testing as they normally allow ascribing the right hazard class/packing group when a substance is classified.

Conclusions:
A test performed according to the UN O.1 test guideline demonstrated that zirconium dinitrate oxide should not be classified as a material of Class 5.1.

Description of key information

Zirconium dintrate oxide is concluded not to have oxidising properties based on the results of a test performed according to the UN O.1 test method (Younis, 2015c).

Additional information

In a GLP study in accordance with UN test method O.1, the test sample mixtures did not ignite and burn. Therefore, testing was terminated after 3 minutes in accordance with the test standard (Younis, 2015c) and it was concluded that zirconium dinitrate oxide has no oxidising properties. This study was considered as reliable (Klimisch 1) and as the key study for endpoint coverage.

Justification for classification or non-classification

It has been determined that zirconium dinitrate oxide should not be classified for oxidising properties under the CLP Regulation.
