EC number: 237-529-3
CAS number: 13826-66-9
Testing is considered not to be required as based on the chemical
structure it can be concluded that zirconium dinitrate oxide is non
explosive. The non-explosiveness is confirmed by DSC analysis.
Considering the chemical structure of the substance and taking Appendix
6 of UN 'Manual of Tests and Criteria' (table A 6.1) for the use of
screening procedures to assess explosive properties, and the ECHA
Endpoint specific guidance (R.7a) into consideration, zirconium
dinitrate oxide is concluded not to contain any chemical groups
indicating explosive properties. This conclusion is confirmed by the DSC
analysis showing no significant exothermic decomposition energy below
the above assessment it is concluded that zirconium dinitrate oxide is
non explosive and should thus not be classified for this endpoint under
the CLP Regulation.
