Description of key information

A biodegradation study performed in accordance with OECD TG 301C (MITI test) and conducted in compliance with GLP is available. The test concentration used (100 mg/L) was slightly above the water solubility of the substance (77.2 mg/L). Under aerobic conditions the substance was not found to be ready biodegradable; 16% biodegradation of the substance was found after 28 days. Some of the test item was changed into 1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-3-cyclohexen-1-yl)ethanone and 3-hydroxy-1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-3-cyclohexen-1-yl)-1-butanone under the test conditions of this study. The rest of the test item, 1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-3-cyclohexen-1-yl)ethanone and 3-hydroxy-1-(2,6,6-trimethyl-3-cyclohexen-1-yl)-1-butanone were not biodegraded by microorganisms and remained.
