Description of key information

The test substance, 4,4'-Isopropylidenedicyclohexanol, oligomeric reaction products with 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane, was evaluated for acute toxicity to rats in an O.E.C.D. test guideline 425 oral study and an O.E.C.D. test guideline 402 acute dermal study.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Acute toxicity: via oral route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
LD50

Acute toxicity: via dermal route

Endpoint conclusion
Dose descriptor:
LD50

Additional information

The rat acute oral LD50 was approximately 2000 mg/kg of body weight and the rat acute dermal LD50 was > 2000 mg/kg of body weight. Therefore, the test substance is relatively nontoxic by both the oral and dermal routes of exposure.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Since the rat acute oral and dermal LD50s are 2000 mg/kg or greater no Classification is required.
