Reference
Endpoint:
melting point/freezing point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
16th of February, 2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: A GLP study carried out to the relevant guidelines.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
An aliquot (15 ml) of test material was placed into a test tube containing a thermometer. A wire loop with which the sample could be agitated was placed inside the tube to ensure sample homogeneity during cooling. The test tube was surrounded by a glass jacket and then placed into a large beaker containing a dry ice/acetone mixture. The temperature and observations of the test material were recorded approximately every 30 seconds until the temperature reached a plateau, then every 300 seconds until completely frozen.
The determination was carried out in duplicate.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
thermal analysis
Melting / freezing pt.:
269 K

No further details provided.

Conclusions:
The freezing point of the test material has been determined to be 269 ± 0.5 K.
Executive summary:

The freezing point of the test material has been determined to be 269 ± 0.5 K.

Description of key information

The freezing point of the test material has been determined to be 269 ± 0.5 K.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
269 K

Additional information

The freezing point of the test material has been determined to be 269 ± 0.5 K.
