Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The log Koc for bis(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate was estimated by means of QSAR (KOCWIN v2.00) since experimental determination using the screening test is not feasible (substance decomposes in HPLC equipment).

The predicted value, based on the log Kow is log Koc = 5.0796, whereas the log Koc based on MCI was estimated to be 4.14. The higher value is used in the risk assessment of the substance in a worst case approach.

Log Koc values > 4 indicate strong binding to soil particles. Estimated values are essential for substances for which experimental measurement is not feasible i.e. for difficult substances like bis(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate, which decomposes in the analytical system (HPLC).

The QSAR estimated value is considered to be sufficient since it is feasible to perform the CSA with this figure, i.e. risk can be adequately controlled in the sediment and/or soil compartment.
