Description of key information

The aerobic biodegradation of diphenyl sulphone was estimated with the BIOWIN model (v. 4.10). The substance is estimated to be not readily biodegradable.

Additional information

Since diphenyl sulphone is predicted not to be biodegradable under the conditions of the standard OECD 301C test, BIOWIN concludes that DPS is not readily biodegradable. The ultimate biodegradation is estimated to take weeks and the primary degradation occurs within a timeframe of days. Test results on biodegradation are not available.
