Statement on terrestrial toxicity

Since the substance Vinasses, residue of fermentation, depotassified is considered as readily biodegradable, a chronic exposure of terrestrial organisms is of low relevance. Furthermore, due to the lack of any toxicological or ecotoxicological effects, it can be assumed that there is no risk from any of the category members for terrestrial organisms. This assessment is underlined by the fact that Vinasses have been used as animal food for decades and also by their use as fertilizer.

Statement on toxicity to birds

As Vinasses, residue of fermentation, depotassified is not classified as toxic or harmful, and due to the lack of any toxicological or ecotoxicological effects, the substance is not considered to cause toxic effects in predators. Thus, a study with birds is not needed due to animal welfare reasons and no PNEC oral is derived.
