Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One reliable study is available on Vinasses, residue of fermentation. No flammable vapour/air mixture was produced at temperatures below the boiling temperature of Vinasses composed of approximately 65% dry matter. Since Vinasses of various subgroups are very similar in composition, it was concluded that Vinasses in form of suspension/aqueous solution and paste have no flash point.

Based on the analogue approach justification and as Vinasses, residue of fermentation and Vinasses, residue of fermentation, depotassified contain very similar dry matter contents and the same types of components with similar ranges, an analogy can be done on physico-chemical properties between the two substances.

Therefore, using the principle of read-across, Vinasses, residue of fermentation, depotassified in form of suspension in water or paste is not classified according to DSD (67/548/EEC) and CLP (1272/2008/EC) criteria.
