Description of key information

QSAR model for the prediction of Koc from Kow, based on European Chemicals Bureau (ECB) guidance (Technical Guidance Document on Risk Assessment, Part III, 2003).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
66.2

Additional information

The adsorption/desorption coefficient of 2-vinylpyridine is estimated to be 66.2 (i.e., log Koc of 1.821). As the log Koc value falls between 1.5 and 2.5, this suggests that 2VP exhibits low sorption onto soil and sediment (defined in the Interpretive Assistance for Sustainable Futures Summary Assessment, updated January 2007, by U.S. EPA, Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics, Sustainable Futures Program).
