Endpoint:
auto-flammability
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Study according to DIN guideline, fully documented
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: DIN 51794
GLP compliance:
not specified
Auto-ignition temperature:
360 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 Bar
Relative self-ignition temperature:
360 °C
Remarks on result:
other:
Remarks:
at atm. press. of ca.1.0 Bar

The same value of 360 °C (final value according to DIN 51794) was obtained for both samples. Individual values for the samples were:

Lowest value of the preliminary experiment: 365 (first sample) and 360 °C (second sample)

Lowest value of the main experiment: 368 (first sample) and 360 °C (second sample)

Lowest value of the first repetition: 365 (first sample) and 365 °C (second sample)

Lowest value of the second repetition: 364 (first sample) and 360 °C (second sample)

Conclusions:
The self-ignition temperature of the test item was 360 °C.
Executive summary:

In a study according to DIN guideline 51794, o-chlorobenzaldehyde showed a self-ignition temperature of 360 °C.

Description of key information

Self-ignition temperature: 360 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
360 °C

Additional information

The auto-flammability was determined in a study conducted according to DIN guideline and is considered reliable without restrictions.
