Description of key information

According to Annex VII (section 9.3.1) of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, adsorption/desorption screening is not required if the substance has a "low octanol water partition coefficient". Respective criteria in the "Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment - Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance" (May 2008) are met by o-chlorobenzaldehyd. Asoprtion/desorption testing therefore is not considered necessary.

Additional information

With respect to environmental transport and distribution, information on adsorption/desorption is the only information required for substances up to 100 t/a.
