Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable
Transformation products:
not measured
Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily biodegradable

Description of key information

Not relevant due to ready biodegradability

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No simulation tests investigating the biodegradation of Fatty acids, C12-16 (even numbered) and C18 unstd., methyl esters in water and sediment are available. Nevertheless, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, Column 2, 9.2.1.2 and 9.2.1.4, simulation testing on biodegradation in water and sediment is not required since the substance is readily biodegradable.
