Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental data evaluating the hydrolysis of Fatty acids, C12-16 (even numbered) and C18 unstd., methyl esters (CAS No. 1234694-02-0) are available. However, according to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex VIII, Column 2,, a test on hydrolysis is not required since the substance is readily biodegradable. In addition, the results from the supporting QSAR calculated for the representative fatty acid components (C12, C16 and C18 unstd., HYDROWIN v2.00) indicate that hydrolysis is not a relevant degradation pathway in the environmental fate of this substance. Theestimated half-lives (DT50 values) are 7.3 years (pH 7, for all components) and 266 days (pH 8, for all components)(López Parrón, 2011)).
