Description of key information

In accordance with Section 1 of Annex XI of Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), it was considered justified to omit the flammability study required under information point 7.10 of Annex VII on the basis that it is scientifically unjustified. The substance is a low-melting solid; therefore the EU Test Methods A.10 and A.11 are not applicable.
Based on the known chemical and physical properties of the substance and its chemical structure, negative results are predicted for the following flammability tests, so it is considered justified to omit them:
Method A.12: Flammability (contact with water)
Method A.13: Pyrophoric properties of solids and liquids.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is a low-melting solid, so EU Test Methods A.10 and A.11 are not applicable; the substance can therefore be considered to be not "extremely flammable" or "flammable". Furthermore, since the flash point study is negative, and the EU Test Methods A.12 and A.13 are predicted to be negative, the substance can be considered to be "not highly flammable". On this basis, no classification with regards to flammability is required according to Directive 67/548/EEC or Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
