To assess the aquatic hazard potential of 4-[(2-chloroethyl)(ethyl)amino]benzaldehyde, acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed. The most sensitive test organism was Daphnia magna with an EC50 (48h) =0.58 mg/L. In fish (Leuciscus idus) the LC50 (96 h) ranges between 2.2 – 4.6 mg/L was detected. The EC50 determined in algae after 72 hours was 14.4 mg/L regarding the growth rate of Desmodesmus subspicatus.
