Description of key information
An 56 -d EC10 of 437 mg/kg soil dw on reproduction was observed.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Long-term EC10, LC10 or NOEC for soil macroorganisms:
- 437 mg/kg soil dw
Additional information
In a GLP guideline study following OECD TG 222 earthworms (Eisenia fetida) were exposed for 56 days to nominal test concentrations of 0 (control), 0 (solvent control), 62.5, 125, 250, 500 and 1000 mg Tridecylamine /kg dw (BASF SE, 2016; report no. 68E0391/03G010). Analytical monitoring was not performed. In the highest concentration after 28 days a mortality of 30% mean value was observed; therefore the 28 -d LC50 is greater than 1000 mg/kg soil dw. The effect on the reproduction after 56 days was: NOEC = 125 mg/kg soil dw, EC10 = 437 mg/kg soil dw, EC50 = 633 mg/kg soil dw.
According to the REACH Guidance document R.10 (p. 39), the PNECsoil will be calculated based on the experimental result using with application of an assessment factor as well as using the equilibrium partitioning method (EPM). The lower PNEC of both methods will be used for the risk assessment.
