Based on read-across to the analogue substance octadecylamine (CAS 124 -30 -1), and EPISuite calculations of the analogue substance 1 -Tridecanamine (CAS 2869 -34 -3), the target item Tridecylamine, branched and linear (CAS 86089 -17 -0) is expected to adsorb to solid soil and sediment.

From the water surface, the substance will slowly evaporate into the atmosphere. However, as the chemical is ionized at environmentally relevant pH levels, evaporation of the solved fraction of the substance into the atmosphere is assessed to be negligible.

Over time, the substance (CAS 86089 -17 -0) will preferentially distribute into the compartments air (53%), soil (22%) and sediment (23%). T

he calculation is based inter alia on a vapor pressure of 19 Pa as extrapolated  from a BASF (1976) study.
Results related to the uncharged molecule. A pKa value of 10.35 indicates that the molecule will amost entirely exist as a cation in the environment (pH 5 -9). Hence, the model may underestimate the distribution in water, since the model does not consider the charged form of the molecule.

The calculation for the structurally similar substance 1 -tridecanamine (CAS 2869 -34 -3) show that the substance will preferentially distribute over time into the compartments air (35%), soil (31%) and sediment (31%).
