Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

non explosive

Additional information

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VII, Section 7.11, Column 2, testing for explosive properties is not considered to be required for divanadium tris(sulphate). Divanadium tris(sulphate) is considered to be “inert” in the context of explosivity. It is void of any chemical structures commonly associated with explosive properties, such as metal peroxides, peroxo-acid-anions, azides, and halogen oxides. In addition, long-term industrial experience in practical handling of divanadium tris(sulphate) shows that it is not explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Divanadium tris(sulphate) does not need to be classified for explosive properties according to Directive 67/548 EEC and CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 as these are considered to be non-relevant based on the lack of functional groups.
