Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Melting Point: 2.4°C (tetrachlorodimethyldisilane)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No melting point is available for the substance, Disilane, chloro Me derivs. A melting point of 2.4°C for the major constituent of the substance, tetrachlorodimethyldisilane, is reported in a collection of reliable data which has been subject to peer review and which the orginal data sources are traceable and also in a secondary source. There is no available measured data for the other two major constituents and no suitable predictive method has been identified, although the similarities in the structures and properties (such as boiling point) of the three constituents indicates the melting points could be in a similar range.
